Binance Charity Funds Web3 Scholarships

Binance Charity will award 30,665 Web3 scholarships in 2023 after funding 36,500 places in 2022 since its launch in June 2022.

Binance Charity has donated over $2.2 million BUSD to fund free access to Web3 education worldwide and enable the next generation of digital leaders. Students from universities in countries like Brazil, Ukraine, Nigeria, France and others have received scholarship opportunities.

“So far, Binance donations have funded 259,180 hours of Web3 education and training,” the blog reads. “In total, the Binance Charity Educational Initiative offers 67,155 scholarships, of which 36,500 have already been granted and another 30,655 have yet to be opened.”

The program received over 82,000 applications, showing that Binance Charity awarded funding to over 80% of applicants. Binance has also made sure to partner with organizations serving marginalized communities.

“The response to our Web3 education projects has been unprecedented, showing so many people’s strong appetite for learning more about blockchain, De-Fi [sic], NFT, coding and much more,” Binance Charity Manager Helen Hai said on the blog. “We are seeing interest from a wide range of people, including a large number of women, which I am particularly excited about. With so many other educational initiatives with amazing partners in the pipeline, we have never been more excited to the idea of ​​building a more inclusive Web3 world.

Binance Scholar Program courses are offered online and in-person with a variety of durations from short introductions to more in-depth seminars. Students have the opportunity to learn many key cryptocurrency topics such as decentralization, metaverse, NFTs, and trading.
